Shop Light is a portable lamp that references the protective cages found in industrial shop lighting. The goal is to bring this familiar architecture into the context of contemporary living spaces. The protective cage is emphasized with an expressive form that casts linear shadows onto the surrounding room. This cage, which is made from aluminium rods that flat pack for efficient shipping, also functions as a handle for carrying the portable lamp. Halo is a simple arched lamp that helps your plants grow. Design by @massimocappellastudio The lamp is made of solid ash wood, powder-coated aluminum, and powder-coated steel. All materials are coated with a special super matte finish black paint. The light has a temperature of 3000K and 1200 Lumen in brightness which is approximately the equivalent of a 100 W incandescent Bulb or 17 W LED Bulb. The light temperature has been chosen to fit in a warm-colored environment as well as a more modern brighter space. With Halo light, plants can be bathed in an all-encompassing light. The new Fiber Pattern Lamp by @atelierrobotiq is an extremely lightweight cylindrical construction consisting solely of wound industrial yarn, reinforced with resin, resembling three-dimensional linework suspended in space. At first glance, the yarn pattern may appear to be perfectly ordered, but a closer look would reveal a transition between a regular and a non-uniform pattern. The warped lines are the result of various tweaks in the robot's program, which challenge the grip of the yarn on the mandrel during the production process. The unpredictable interwoven patterns may give the impression that the robot has developed a mind of its own. The thoughtful construction of Loop invites users to choose between several materials for the shade. With a simple bend, sheet materials usually seen as delicate are transformed into rigid structural components. Recycled PET felt, natural wood veneer, and recycled corrugated paper are just a few possible variations. Usability and Experience Creating a great experience with a lighting product goes beyond illumination and shadow.

The Caterpillar lamp from @fabienroystudio This flexible shape memory light offers a fun way to orient a light source by twisting it at will. The user redefines for each use a new shape, thus becoming an actor in the aesthetics of the light. The complexity of designing articulated lights led me to imagine an alternative solution by minimizing the number of parts required. A ribbed tube serves both as a structure and a finish coat. In addition, it makes invisible the weighted base system, the power cable and the back of the led system.

Designed using simple dome geometry for its diffusers with the addition of a rather striking base, the Wave lamps base takes the form of a segmented wave symbolizing the unbalance that exists within pure balance. So how does it work? The Wave desk lamp utilizes a series of chambers that are filled to maintain its center ( Upright – Lights off). A slight tilt to either side of the Wave lamp would cause its interior to shift, thus triggering it to generate light dependant on the direction of the tilt. Once the balance is maintained at its center, the Wave light goes off, leaving behind a sight of wonder. Design by @pato.casa.official

Foundation is a light inspired by the brutalist architecture of Montréal, it’s construction methods, and how the character of materials shifts overtime. Made from a lightweight plaster and 5 identical powder-coated tubes, Foundation is a dramatic sculptural piece and brings a unique ambiance to a room. When the light is on, it casts downwards onto the bottom mass of plaster and reflects off the imperfect surfaces to disperse the light. The two plaster masses start as a single scored block. Breaking this block allows for each light to be unique. Foundation also takes advantage of the plaster's weight to make the assembly as simple as dropping the tubes into the base and aligning the top piece. The light is currently a prototype. The central feature of the AYNO lighting family is a fiberglass rod, which is stretched to the bow by the luminaire cable. The inherent tension of the rod allows a lamp without any joints. By sliding the two adjustment rings at the top and bottom, the fiberglass rod is bent into the desired position and the light is directed where needed. The cable tightens the rod into an arc, of which the radius can be varied as required using the adjustment rings. the fine adjustment is done with the swiveling lampshade. Design by @midgardlamps

I just posted a full review of one of the newer products from @gantri called the Carve light. It's a unique design that mixes rounded shapes with straight edges, and its soft, diffused light can help warm up any space. I ended up plugging mine into some cheap smart plugs and now they turn on automatically 30 minutes before sunset, giving me perfect lighting to start winding down. Apsis from @zakstratfold Seeking function from form, Apsis is based on a circles most fundamental quality- rotational symmetry. It’s laminated wood body revolves freely around a tactile stone trey base, without the need for the complicated mechanisms typically associated with adjustable lamps. Items within the stone trey are orbited and illuminated by the touch dimmable lamp head, which in turn pivots through a range of 270 degrees. The cable and LED are hidden within the body and head, creating a clean, uninterrupted aesthetic that emphasis the lamp's simple geometry and expert craftsmanship.
